Introduction to the Senya Fleshin papers

These files come from the Senya Fléchine [Fleshin] Papers at The International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam. They are a primary source on Bolshevik persecution of the Russian anarchist movement. These are the originals which may have been published partially in the Bulletin of the Joint Committee for the Defense of Revolutionists Imprisoned in Russia (1923-26) and the Bulletin of the Relief Fund of the International Working Men’s Association for Anarchists and Anarcho-Syndicalists Imprisoned or Exiled in Russia (1926-31). They also show the dynamics of the anarchist solidarity efforts with their imprisoned and exiled comrades.

This is not a complete collection of relevant material from the Fleshin Papers (If it’s not here, it didn’t get copied). If you use them in your researches, please share your information with the Kate Sharpley Library’s Anarchists in the Gulag, prison and exile project. If you publish anything based on these materials, please send a copy to the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam.

Several updates made in May 2015: extra material from Folder 76, and new material from Folder 85 and Folder 86 part one and Folder 86 part two.
